There is a charmed shop here in town where unique employees are using their flower power to make a business blossom. Enchanted Florist isn’t your typical flower shop. They tend to hire musicians, dancers, any sort of artist that is not florally trained. Just wait until you see the vibe and the energy in this store… we think it’s pretty cool.
The House of Blues Foundation Room is located on the 43rd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino and offers what many consider the very best view of the Las Vegas Strip. But what is super cool about this hot spot is its dedication to supporting the education of children through music, art and history.
Two fabulous local gals have launched a new product line called “Working Girls”. These “Working Girls” are all about being smart and sassy, fun and classy.
You can find their fun drawings and tag lines on anything from wine glasses to bev naps to key chains… and are available at local stores around the Valley.
We spent the day with the creators to learn more about this labor of love….
When most people think of the music scene here in Las Vegas, they think of big name acts on the strip…but what a lot of people don’t know is about the local music scene happening at some of the local bars and clubs. We recently spent the afternoon at Las Vegas Country Saloon to find out a little bit more about our local music scene.
Just a short drive from the valley of neon lies another world…Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam. Enjoy a fun combination of spectacular scenery, good food and “Outrageously Great Tours!” aboard the Desert Princess, the pride of Lake Mead Cruises.
Spending time on the Desert Princess will transport you back to the old south with the friendly service and its authentic riverboat paddlewheel. In addition to seeing the mighty Hoover Dam, the sights on Lake Mead are constantly changing, and there is a cruise available for you to enjoy any time of day – morning, noon or night.
He was known as Mr. Showmanship. The legendary pianist, Liberace, dazzled his audience with charisma, flashy costumes, cars and of course…some bigtime bling. But he was known as more than just a performer. He understood the importance of giving back to the Las Vegas community…and today, his legacy lives on.
Case in point? In 1979, Liberace opened a museum to offer an intimate glimpse of his memorabilia that helped make him “Mr. Showmanship.” Proceeds from admissions have touched many young lives over the past three decades, with his foundation awarding nearly 3,000 students with scholarships to date. And we think that is pretty cool…
